Once these linens have been processed for your facility the question is how does it get there? There are many different ways that Purity Linen can use to create a system of delivery for the customer. All this depends on what the customer needs and the situation requires.
When creating an appropriate delivery service for a customer there are multiple questions that we ask.
- Bulk Linen Service or Unit Cart Linen Service
- Number of Delivery Locations
- Main Facility Access
- Offsite Locations
- Straight Box Truck or Tractor Trailer
- Time Restrictions
These questions are some of the things that are critical to the logistical setup of a new customer. Purity can and does deliver in all these different methods. None is better or worse than the other, but each is tailored to what is the most cost effective method for the customer.
Bulk Carts vs. Unit Carts
A basic question for the customer is “How would you like the linen delivered”? Purity Linen can setup delivery in bulk containers or we can deliver in shelf carts for delivery to a floor unit. In either setup, all of Purity Linen’s carts are numbered and tracked. The method of delivery is a decision made with the customer and is based upon how the customer’s staff is structured, and depending on this, it can be cost effective for Purity Linen to makeup the carts for the individual units instead of the customer’s staff. In other cases, it is more effective for Purity Linen to deliver in bulk and the customer’s in-house staff will create the carts.
Offsite Location & Delivery
Today nearly all hospitals have external locations from the main facility that service patients. Often these locations are doctor’s offices, rehabilitation services, or other specialized practices. Purity Linen has a program that can eliminate the hassle of having to coordinate the items needed for these facilities. The linens are packed in barcode identified blue shipping totes for smaller locations or an entire unit or bulk cart for larger deliveries.
